Summary

You’ll be joining the Strategic Development team working across multiple strategic projects that ensure we are maximising our commercial and customer revenues across the whole of News UK. The Strategic Development team is responsible for growing and diversifying revenue streams through evolving and enhancing our products and processes.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Our main stakeholders are Tech, Editorial and Commercial departments. This means we are always analysing internal and external factors and produce a project strategy and outcome
  • You will be working across a variety of topics such as Video/ Ad Strategy, Subscriptions/ Membership, Editorial products, section performance and our flagship first party data platform, Nucleus
  • Working with external platforms such as Tik Tok, Apple, Google, Meta

Course contents
  • Liaise with and manage, clients, stakeholders, internal teams and external suppliers to deliver required outcomes.
  • Undertake data collection, data analysis, data presentation and data storage including analysis and validation of the outputs from primary or secondary research data sources.
  • Interpret, prepare and communicate research findings such as presentations, reports, and workshops.
  • Make evidence-based recommendations from research results.
  • Use communications skills and techniques such as negotiation, collaboration, problem solving, and decision making.
  • Interpret research objectives and translate into research design and implementation.
  • Use digital and IT software packages relevant to the role.
  • Use research/survey software to gather audience insight and/or evaluation such as SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solutions).
  • Select and use appropriate research design techniques.
  • Evaluate data and research findings to derive insights to support improvements to future research projects.
