Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Our organisation is on a rapid growth journey both through external recruitment and acquisitions so your role will be key to supporting the development of internal talent and shaping the future teams across the whole organisation.

As Performance Team Apprentice Administrator, you will be an integral part of the Performance Team, responsible for providing high quality administration services which support the delivery and management of all Performance related activities, including system and administrative reporting, data input and overseeing all data within our performance tracking systems. Collaboration and involvement in projects across the People and Performance team will also be an integral part of the role, working closely with and supporting the Heads of Technical and Professional Development.

You’ll also get the opportunity to work closely with our wider People and organisation to support our teams to develop the best talent – monitoring all training requests and talent management activity and assisting with analysis of data to ensure that as an organisation we are focussing in the right areas.

  • Administer Talent and Performance activity within the HR and internal IT systems
  • Develop process documents and supporting templates for Talent and Performance activities
  • Support with Talent and Performance team day to day activity, including data entry, account updates and reports, collating information and creating reports
  • Administer Training Request process
  • Deliver high quality, accurate documentation such as funding approval letters, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail and taking steps to ensuring the accuracy of the information included
  • Provide first line advice to employees and people managers with appropriate reference to our policies and processes, taking an outcome focussed approach in line with our commitment to ESaaS
  • Build outstanding relationships with employees, line manager and the Node4 People and Talent and Performance team to ensure an exceptional service to all internal and external stakeholders
  • Learner Management Systems administration support
  • Contribute high quality data to reporting requirements
  • Identify and lead improvements to administrative processes which improve the employee and line manager experience including use of self-serve or automation technologies
  • Provide administration support to the Talent and Performance teams
  • Provide Reception cover and front of house duties as required
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of projects across the People & Performance department
  • Continuously develop own expertise, knowledge and experience through team working and deep understanding of the organisation and its systems
  • Proactively develop self to become the go to contact for all Talent and Performance administration enquiries

Course contents
  • Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to: write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data. Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages. Able to choose the most appropriate IT solution to suit the business problem. Able to update and review databases, record information and produce data analysis where required.
  • Produces accurate records and documents including: emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals. Makes recommendations for improvements and present solutions to management. Drafts correspondence, writes reports and able to review others' work. Maintains records and files, handles confidential information in compliance with the organisation's procedures. Coaches others in the processes required to complete these tasks.
  • Exercises proactivity and good judgement. Makes effective decisions based on sound reasoning and is able to deal with challenges in a mature way. Seeks advice of more experienced team members when appropriate.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships within their own team and across the organisation. Demonstrates ability to influence and challenge appropriately. Becomes a role model to peers and team members, developing coaching skills as they gain area knowledge.
  • Demonstrates good communication skills, whether face-to-face, on the telephone, in writing or on digital platforms. Uses the most appropriate channels to communicate effectively. Demonstrates agility and confidence in communications, carrying authority appropriately. Understands and applies social media solutions appropriately. Answers questions from inside and outside of the organisation, representing the organisation or department.
  • Completes tasks to a high standard. Demonstrates the necessary level of expertise required to complete tasks and applies themself to continuously improve their work. Is able to review processes autonomously and make suggestions for improvements. Shares administrative best-practice across the organisation e.g. coaches others to perform tasks correctly. Applies problem-solving skills to resolve challenging or complex complaints and is a key point of contact for addressing issues.
  • Takes responsibility for initiating and completing tasks, manages priorities and time in order to successfully meet deadlines. Positively manages the expectations of colleagues at all levels and sets a positive example for others in the workplace. Makes suggestions for improvements to working practice, showing understanding of implications beyond the immediate environment (e.g. impact on clients, suppliers, other parts of the organisation). Manages resources e.g. equipment or facilities. Organises meetings and events, takes minutes during meetings and creates action logs as appropriate. Takes responsibility for logistics e.g. travel and accommodation.
  • Uses relevant project management principles and tools to scope, plan, monitor and report. Plans required resources to successfully deliver projects. Undertakes and leads projects as and when required.

    • In addition to gaining practical experience in the role, you will also attain an NVQ 3 Business Admin qualification which will help start your career and give you an insight into the business processes and procedures
    • Our training is all completed remotely via teams with a development coach who will be available for support 24/7
    • You receive 20% off the job training during this Apprenticeship which is included in your weekly working hours
