Summary
Looking for somebody who is eager to learn and work in a small friendly team. Mornings you do the prep work for the day, salads, veg, batters and sauces, then its lunch service. Evening service, clean down. As the apprenticeship goes on you will learn how to make the dishes with the chef. 30 hour week, Starting wage £7.00.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- 10.30 prep for lunch, salad, veg, batters and sauces
- 12.00 lunch service you will help prepare dishes and the get then ready to go to the customers in the restaurant
- 5.30 evening service preparing starters and mains for the customers in the restaurant

Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Your training plan
You will start with food hygiene as you need this to be able to work in the kitchen.
Once you have settled in then the trainer from HIT training will put a program together with you and then the chef will help you through the program by teaching you the different areas. Your Trainer will come out to The Windmill Inn once a month to do paperwork and learning modules with you.
- Once a month you will go out to the HIT training premises to do cooking on the topic chosen that month
- Final qualification will be a Commis Chef Level 2
- Functional Skills in English and maths if required

About this company
I have been running THe Windmill Inn for 12 years, we are a family style pub, i run on a small team of staff. We have a small bar area that has darts and pool and there is a seperate restaurant area. We stand at number 6 on trip adviser have been up there for the last 9 years, well known for good food and good service.
