As an Apprentice Cut & Crease Assistant at Graphic Packaging, you will support the production process efficiently and effectively by ensuring all manufacturing activities are carried out to company standards, working under the supervision of a skilled team.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Assist the department to achieve target run speeds and obtain optimum performance.
- Follow work-ticket plans and coordinate material supply with the forklift driver.
- Produce job-tickets for scrap, rejected or returned loads and to secure loads prior to removal from area.
- Assist in the preparation of subsequent jobs and during make readies to achieve efficient change over between jobs, minimizing lost production time, supporting any timely quality checks, along with supporting housekeeping and Quality Audits
- Ensure machine area is kept clean and tidy.
- Help machine crews to achieve efficient running and cover meal breaks.
- Carry out all duties in a safe and efficient manner whilst conforming to H&S procedures.
- Undertake Behavioural Based Safety (BBS) training.
- Present loads to press to the highest standard to generate high quality and efficient production.
- Input work-ticket information accurately for all load details and report any shortages or material problems.
- Perform a timely and thorough handover with the oncoming shift to include safety, plan, machine condition and quality.
- Participate and contribute to all activities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and lean initiatives.

Your training plan
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, the qualification obtained will be a Level 3 Print Technician Apprenticeship Standard. This will include Functional Skills in English and maths if required.
Graphic Packaging International will ensure that the apprentice will gain experience, confidence and trade skills that will lead them into a career within an operational environment. The apprentice training will be a mixture of classroom-based education complemented with practical training. Once completed the apprentice will gain a industry recognised qualification.

- Throughout your time as an apprentice, you will be supported by both your employer and BPIF Training to achieve the knowledge, skills and behaviours of the apprenticeship through a structured training plan.
- You will be assigned a training coordinator who will work with you throughout your apprenticeship to ensure that you have the best training and support available.
- Most training and studying will be a combination of regular site-based visits at the employer's premises and occasional remote delivery.
