Summary

We will initially train the candidate to use our computer-controlled laser cutter to be able to identify, pick and select the required materials. This must be carried out to a high standard with a keen eye for detail and no errors.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Operating the laser cutter
  • Assisting staff with moving sails around the factory 
  • Assisting in making sure items are in perfect condition before they are dispatched
  • Checking goods in against orders and delivery notes

About this company

We are family-owned company and started in 1832 and the oldest sailmakers in the world. We manufacture using the latest state of the art laser cutter and have specialist sewing machines, all based in our purpose built relatively new factory.
