Summary
This is a one-year programme where you’ll learn to be the face of the Aldi shopping experience. You’ll give our customers the amazing service, products and environment they expect - and more. We’ll teach you all the techniques to succeed whilst you work your way towards a Level 2 Retailer qualification. We recruit nationwide and all year around!

We recruit all year round for this role and have immediate start dates available. Available roles can be found via our website www.aldirecruitment.co.uk. The role includes shift work across Monday - Sunday including evenings and weekends, TBC.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- You can get a lot done in ten weeks, but you’ll certainly have to knuckle down to get the Store Assistant role under wraps. If you do, you’ll quickly become a vital part of the team.
- At Aldi, we just couldn’t function if our people only focused on themselves. Why is why you’ll start by learning how to get the most out of working effectively in a retail team.
- It’s all about your stores stock. From checking levels to sorting out any problems, you’ll discover how to ensure we have the perfect amount of products on the shop floor.

Course contents
- Communicate with customers to meet their requirements and encourage customer loyalty and repeat business.
- Serve customers in line with brand standards, legislation, business procedures and the values of the business.
- Provide a retail service that balances the customers’ needs with additional linked products and services.
- Use face to face or online sales techniques such as product and price comparisons to support or influence the customer in their purchasing decisions.
- Promote seasonal or local offers through in-store or online promotions.
- Identify situations that may damage business reputation in line with company policy and escalate as required.
- Maintain good merchandising to meet the needs of the business whilst ensuring safety.
- Maintain stock levels and storage conditions such as correct temperature, lighting, ventilation, packaging to meet customer demand and minimise stock loss.
- Use technology and applications to support sales and service ensuring that maintenance issues are reported.
- Support team and colleague development through buddying and/or coaching.
- Comply with regulations and legislation relevant to their role and business.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities which focus on improving sustainability within the business.
- Handle complaints within remit or escalate as appropriate.
- Support sales across a range of promotional events throughout the calendar year.

Your training plan
- The major reason we’re doing so well at Aldi is because of our customers. They like us, and we love them. You’ll learn how to give them the best experience around, handling any queries with a confident smile.
- Throughout the whole programme, your Assessor will pay you a visit every month. This is just to make sure that you’re on course with your programme and on track to succeed.
- Every three months, you'll meet up with your Store Manager, Area Manager and Assesor. This is just to make sure you're on track and performing well.
- On top of Assessor visits and Quarterly Reviews, you'll also have Progress Reviews. Less formal than a Quarterly Review, they're there to give you constant feedback about how you're doing.
- Graduation is just the start of your amazing Aldi career. You'll now be given the chance to move into a permanent position within the team - where you'll beging to dicsover even more exciting opportunities.

After this apprenticeship
Once Apprentices have completed their Level 2 Apprenticeship they have the opportunity to progress on to a permanent Store Assistant contract. For those who show a passion for Leadership and Management, can progress onto the Level 3 Store Management programme.
