Summary
Mayfield Press are looking for an apprentice print finisher to join their busy bindery team. We are looking for a trainee to join our busy print finishing department. The job will involve learning all the various processes from trimming, folding and stitching to laminating, fulfilment and packing.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
We have an enviable reputation as one of Oxfordshire's finest print companies, boasting an array of lithographic, digital and large format equipment. The trainee will be taught all aspects of the various print processes. They will become part of a team and will be schooled in the various print finishing processes. Mayfield Press has an impressive print finishing department and as part of your role you will be trained to operate: - Guillotines - Folders - Stitching-line - Laminators - Cylinders From simple stationary to brochures and posters, all work is produced to the highest possible standards.

Your training plan
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, the qualification obtained will be a Level 3 Print Technician Apprenticeship Standard (post-press pathway). The apprentice will be given sufficient time to undertake their "off-the-job" requirement of the apprenticeship during their working hours. Throughout your time as an apprentice, you will be supported by both your employer and BPIF Training to achieve the knowledge, skills and behaviours of the apprenticeship through a structured training plan. You will be assigned a training coordinator who will work with you throughout your apprenticeship to ensure that you have the best training and support available. Most training and studying will be a combination of regular site-based visits at the employer's premises and occasional remote delivery. Candidates without the required level of maths and English will be required to complete Functional Skills alongside the apprenticeship.
