Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

The apprenticeship will provide a thorough and broad training in all aspects of Business Development by telephone.

The training will be split in two decisive areas of development. 

One will concentrate on four days a week will on Telesales and one day a week will be spent in the office on sales administration. 

The training will provide the apprentice with essential skills in sales, marketing, IT and Office Administration that will enable them after the apprenticeship to follow other areas of work within the company such Digital Marketing, Accounts, Sales Representative on the road, Customer Relation, Human resources, etc. 

The apprentice can expect to receive full on-going Telesales training in:

  • Telesales Pitch writing
  • Handling Queries
  • Retaining Customers 

Office & Sales Administration Training will include:

  • Order Confirmation
  • Prospecting Leads
  • Customer relation
  • Data inputting
  • Email Marketing
  • Internet Research
  • Sage Software knowledge

The apprenticeship will be demanding but fun and varied. You will be working in a very small, busy and target driven Telesales sales environment. You will be working from written scripts.

No computer work is involved in the Telesales with paper leads provided.

Course contents

  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication skills, along with summarising language during face-to-face communications; and/or
  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate communication skills, along with reinforcement techniques (to confirm understanding) during non-facing customer interactions.
  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use an appropriate ‘tone of voice’ in all communications, including written and digital, that reflect the organisation’s brand.
  • Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
  • Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity and work to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate patience and calmness.
  • Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
  • Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
  • Maintain informative communication during service recovery.

Your training plan

  • Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 Apprenticeship
  • Blended learning including both college and online learning days.
  • Delivered in your workplace with one-to- one training and tutor visits every 4 weeks
  • Practical assessment and coursework during and at the end of the programme

Additional qualifications:

  • Those who complete will be eligible to join the Institute of Customer Services

GCSE in:
