£15,704 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

To support the engineering department in producing accurate 3D CAD models of production/project specific equipment, along with full drawings to BS 8888 and bill of materials (BOM’s). Implementing small design changes to improve functionality of the design and subsequently revising CAD models, drawings and BOM’s. Supporting the workshop team with build/assembly drawings and additional documentation to ensure all equipment is built and commissioned to specification.

The below is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.

Role specific responsibilities

  • Validating CAD models through cross referencing accuracy against completed equipment.
  • Producing bills of materials for project specific equipment
  • Producing engineering drawings to relevant industry standards (BS 8888)
  • Minor design changes to existing equipment
  • Design verification work, including FEA simulation
  • Producing equipment manuals and additional documentation
  • Potential for global travel

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Maths (grade 4)
