We are seeking a proactive, skilled, and adaptable Engineering Technician to support our vibrant Engineering, Automotive team. The ideal candidate will be someone who not only has the technical curiosity to learn and develop but also embodies the values and behaviours that makes our college community thrive.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Work alongside the Engineering, Automotive and Construction technician to prepare, maintain and repair equipment and machines that are used within the Engineering and Automotive department.
- Creation of a safe workshop environment, modelling ‘5 S’ best practice approaches.
- Taking ownership for the timely maintenance and accurate recording of equipment and machines utilised within Engineering and Automotive.
- Maintaining high standards of stock taking and efficient processes to safely store equipment.
- Support with the preparation for practical and technical delivery within the curriculum area.
- Setting, operating and maintaining Engineering and Automotive equipment.
- Carry out preventative maintenance tasks on plant and specific equipment.
- Contribute to ensuring the safety of all plant, equipment and company assets.
- Develop and maintain audit and equipment storage processes. · Utilise engineering skills to contribute and support both curriculum and non-curriculum projects.
- Contribute innovative ideas, opinions and suggestions to improve the service.
- Support the technician in ordering staff and student resources.
- Fault finding and problem solving to create innovative solutions.
