Summary
Tyldesley Distribution Services Ltd are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Customer Service Advisor to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing customer inquiries via a shared inbox, processing customer orders, order booking and supporting the team/office with various administrative tasks.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
This is a hands-on role that requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
A normal day would include:
- Managing Inboxes
- Order Entry
- Order Booking
- Document Management
- Team Support
- Phone Support

- Use a range of questioning skills, including listening and responding in a way that builds rapport, determines customer needs and expectations and achieves positive engagement and delivery.
- Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication skills, along with summarising language during face-to-face communications; and/or
- Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate communication skills, along with reinforcement techniques (to confirm understanding) during non-facing customer interactions.
- Depending on your job role and work environment: Use an appropriate ‘tone of voice’ in all communications, including written and digital, that reflect the organisation’s brand.
- Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
- Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity and work to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate patience and calmness.
- Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
- Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
- Maintain informative communication during service recovery.
Your training plan
- Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard
- Apprentices will be required to have or achieve level 1 English and maths and to have taken level 2 English and maths tests prior to completion of their Apprenticeship.

Tyldesley Distribution Services Ltd. is a family-owned and managed company with more than 35 years’ experience of working in the transport industry. Incorporated on 15th April 1985, operating from the market town of Tyldesley in Greater Manchester, Tyldesley Distribution Services Ltd began its journey in the transport industry. Through the years Tyldesley Distribution Services Ltd would grow into a well-known haulier in the northwest. The time for expansion was coming. In September 2018 Tyldesley Distribution Services Ltd opened a new depot in the Midlands area and continued to grow at a rapid pace and would soon outgrow it’s Tyldesley depot. July 2024 saw Tyldesley Distribution Services Ltd move from its Horwich depot to the newly acquired site in Westhoughton. Our founding Ethics and principles still hold strong today, we pride ourselves on identifying our customers’ requirements and meeting or exceeding them by providing bespoke solutions. We always aim to provide an efficient and competitive service and maintain a modern fleet.
