Summary

We are seeking to appoint two Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant Apprentices to join the team. You will need to enjoy working with children and to be committed to ensuring that every child receives the best care and education. This role is term time only.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • You will be welcoming the children into school each day, liaising with our parents and carers and working as part of a great team
  • Contribute to the planning for and delivery of the early years curriculum within the seven areas of learning in “Foundation Stage”
  • Help to the creating of an attractive/ stimulating, safe/secure class/school environment through display and classroom organisation
  • Support the maintenance of positive links between home and school by making parents feel welcome and develop links with other agencies
  • Contribute to the assessment of pupils, particularly those in your particular group through observations, records and discussions with other team members, parents and the Head Teacher

  • Comply with legislation, guidance, and procedures for Prevent, safeguarding and health & safety.
  • Support the well-being and mental health of learners.
  • Observe, record, and report on learners in line with organisational procedures.
  • Apply methods of formative assessment.
  • Use up to date technology safely, to support learning.
  • Encourage safe use of technology by learners.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support all learners (for example, scaffolding, open questioning).
  • Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners.
  • Provide feedback to learners.
