Summary

This is a 3-year degree apprenticeship with Sheffield Hallam University in which you study part time alongside a full-time role. You will cover modules such as Financial Management, Marketing, leadership & change management, business project management and Big Data Analytics. There is a final stage project in conjunction with Capgemini’s business.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

As a Service Delivery Analyst you will be combining your full-time role and part-time study for a Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship with our partner University.  Working within Application Development and Maintenance (ADM) across a huge spectrum of challenges, you will:

  • Provide IT service management expertise that will transform how our clients conduct their day-to-day business.
  • Assist the service Engagement Manager to deliver contracted services to our clients in line with ITIL and/or Agile principles.
  • Build strong team and client relationships, support growth, innovation and continuous service improvement.

On the Service Management career path, as you build your awareness of service delivery and gain experiences across the full scope of delivery processes, as well as financial management, you will be preparing to become an Engagement Manager with full accountability for your own service.

Course contents
  • Support the development of organisational strategies and plans. Develop and deliver operational plans; being able to set targets and KPIs, manage resources, and monitor and measure outcomes to establish operational effectiveness, efficiencies and excellence.   Produce reports that clearly present information and data, using a range of interpretation and analytical processes.  Gain wide support to deliver successful outcomes
  • Plan, organise and manage resources in order to achieve organisational goals.  Identify key outcomes, develop and implement plans and monitor progress, and provide reports as required.  Proactively identify risk and create plans for their mitigation. Able to initiate, lead and drive change within the organisation, identifying barriers/challenges and how to overcome them. Ability to use widely recognised project management tools
  • Managing budgets, controlling expenditure and production of financial reports
  • Use of customer insight and analysis of data to determine and drive customer service outcomes and improve customer relationships.  Creative approaches to developing solutions to meet customer need
  • Able to identify service/organisational improvements and opportunities for innovation and growth, using qualitative and quantitative analysis of information and data and benchmarking against others
  • Communicate clearly, effectively and regularly using oral, written and digital channels and platforms.  Use active listening and open questioning to structure conversations and discussions, and able to challenge when appropriate.  Manage and chair meetings and clearly present actions and outcomes. Ability to apply influencing and persuading skills, to the dynamics and politics of personal interactions
  • Able to articulate organisational purpose and values.  Support the creation of an inclusive, high performance work culture. Enable others to achieve by developing and supporting them through coaching and mentoring

Your training plan

  • You will be required to attend Sheffield Hallam University on a series of study blocks.
  • The degree award is BA (Hons) Professional Practice in Management.

Other requirements

This is a hybrid role, with an expectation to work from your base location up to two to three days per week. Additional travel to client sites may be required, depending on project needs. To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance. To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements.
