Are you eager to kickstart your career in business administration? Victor Phillip Dahdaleh Heart and Lung Research Institute is looking for a motivated Business Administrator Apprentice. Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Providing a supportive administrative service
- Enthusiastic and proactive individuals
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- A willingness to learn and grow
- Basic understanding of Office software (Microsoft Office, Google Suite, etc)
- Handling enquiries as first point of contact, drafting replies to straightforward enquiries and referring others as appropriate, and maintaining a bank of useful contacts and standard replies
- Assisting with Estates-related issues, liaising between departmental staff and contractors, and ensuring paperwork is completed
- Contribute fresh ideas and insights to help drive our business forward
- Work towards achieving a nationally recognized qualification
- Good IT/AV skills
- Deal with telephone enquiries in a warm welcoming manner
- Diary management, arrange meetings, coordinate room bookings
- Order catering and work alongside the Executive assistant to ensure efficient running of events/seminars and meetings
- Support staff with IT/AV needs in the meeting rooms

Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:
The practical period is the time dedicated to the development of the knowledge, skills and behaviours for your apprenticeship which includes the following components:
- Level 3 Diploma in Business Administrator
- Business Administrator - Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
- Functional Skills maths and English Level 2 (exemptions apply)
- The apprentice would be assigned a Business Services assessor through the college, who would typically come out to visit in the workplace to assess workplace competence
- The knowledge side would be provided via workshop remote sessions, assignments, evidence of workplace competence. Portfolio would be checked via an online Smart Assessor

GCSE or equivalent in:
