Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Childcare and Development:
- Assist in planning and implementing educational and fun activities to promote children's development.
- Support children’s individual needs, including feeding, changing, and ensuring proper hygiene practices.
- Observe children’s progress and report any concerns to the nursery team.
- Encourage social interaction, language development, and physical skills through guided play.

- Nursery Practitioner (Level 2 or 3)
Upon completing your apprenticeship and gaining a relevant childcare qualification (such as Level 2 or Level 3 in Early Years Education or Childcare), you can progress to becoming a fully qualified Nursery Practitioner or Nursery Assistant.
This role involves more responsibility for planning activities, caring for children, and supporting their development. You'll have opportunities to develop specialisms in areas like early years education or infant care.
