Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
The suitable candidate will be trained to complete the following tasks.
- Prepare book keeping for various clients using either excel or Sage Accounts
- Prepare VAT returns and file online
- Prepare working papers for year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Process payroll monthly/ weekly
- Send payroll RTI reports
- Ad-hoc administrative duties
The successful candidate must be able to learn to manage their own workload and communicate with clients, answering any queries in a timely and effective manner.
There will be the opportunity to gain a wide range of experience in all aspects of accountancy.

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

The apprentice iwll be expected to attend college one day per week to study towards the AAT Level 3 qualification.
In addition, the apprentice will be allocated with an assessor who will visit them within the workplace, once every 6-8 weeks.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade C/4)
- Maths (grade C/4)
- AAT (grade Pass)
