Summary

Gloucestershire FA are seeking to recruit a finance administrator to help with the day to day finances of the business. The successful candidate will join a fantastic team and monitor the day-to-day finances of the business to help maintain and develop efficient and effective financial accounting practices and processes.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Assist with the processing of purchase ledger invoices and expenses on Xero and make timely payments

     

  • Assist with the Reconciliation of all receipts including discipline, affiliation, coaching centres and internally run leagues

     

  • Assist with the preparation of sales invoices for facility and pitch hire

     

  • Allocate all bank receipts and payments and maintain a daily bank reconciliation

     

  • Assist with the production of monthly management accounts

     

  • Assist with the financial forecasting and budgeting processes

     

  • Assist with Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations, final accounts and audit

     

  • The role is an exciting opportunity to have an involvement in all areas of the business from a financial aspect, with an insight into both financial and management accounting.

  • There will be the opportunity to learn and develop skills and knowledge at an operational level and take this forward to producing final accounts.

Course contents
  • Assist with the investigation and response to financial information queries.
  • Record and analyse financial data using the organisation’s standard tools and processes.
  • Apply double entry bookkeeping and accounting standards to process financial documents, generate financial statements and report financial information to users of accounts.
  • Assist with production of accurate financial information for the preparation of accounts.
  • Reconcile financial data, such as, preparation of reconciliations or review of reconciliations.
  • Investigate, resolve or escalate transactional queries and errors within their remit as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Communicate financial information in a way that non-finance stakeholders can interpret and understand.
  • Utilise digital skills to present key financial information using finance and accounting software and applications.
  • Use software packages to assist with basic accounting tasks in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
  • Communicate using varying approaches and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
  • Your training plan

    • The apprenticeship is delivered over 18 months.
    • The apprentice will be required to attend college one day a week.
    • Apprentices will need to pass each unit to proceed with their learning.

    • As the successful apprentice, you will undertake an Apprenticeship in Assistant Accountant Level 3 to include assessment in Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours , Functional Skills in Maths and English (where applicable) and completion of your End Point Assessment.

    • During your time on the apprenticeship programme, you will also be expected to complete and document 20% off-job-training.

    • The Apprenticeship will be delivered by South Gloucestershire & Stroud College over 15-18 Months.

    • You will be required to attend CAMPUS on day release for your studies and an assessor will visit you out on site.

    • You will be assigned a supervisor/mentor within the workplace, who will support you to develop your workplace skills, knowledge and behaviours throughout the duration of your apprenticeship programme.
