Summary

We are excited to recruit a new role within the finance team at Crafters Companion. Set up by Sara Davies in 2005, this is a great time join a fast-changing multimillion-pound, global business. We manufacture and sell a range of crafting products throughout the UK and overseas through our websites, 3rd party retailers and TV shopping channels.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Processing of supplier invoices
  • Reconciling supplier accounts
  • Supporting on the preparation of bank reconciliations
  • Posting payments and helping make payments through our banking systems
  • Supporting the wider finance team with any ad-hoc tasks

As our Accounts Assistant, you will be part of a dynamic finance team who are driving change and control across the business. Reporting into the Financial Controller, we are looking for an ambitious person with attention to detail and strong people skills.

Course contents
  • Record transactional data.
  • Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
  • Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
  • Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
  • Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
  • Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

    GCSE in:
