What you will do in your working day
As a Machining Apprentice, you'll be initially responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
- Machining of bespoke products using various manual and CNC machines;
- Work safely and in line with written procedures, carrying out your own risk assessment before commencing work;
- Use a variety of hand tools;
- Undertaking final inspections of finished components ensuring they are within tolerance;
- Maintaining a clean, organised and productive work area;
- Ensure production timings are met/exceeded.
You’ll develop your skills alongside time-served Arrow Engineering employees and other ex-apprentices who are eager to pass on their knowledge, helping you learn a variety of duties and how to support the whole business. You’ll be taught and mentored to achieve your full potential and create the foundation of a career in engineering.

The training you will be getting
The successful candidates will continue their studies with apprenticeship specialists, RNN Group at their North Notts campus on a day release format, giving you the training and support you need to become an all-rounded and successful Engineer.
Functional Skills in Maths & English if required.
The Apprenticeship Standard you will be studying is Engineering Operative – Mechanical – Level 2
- Diploma in engineering operations (skills)
- Certificate or Diploma in engineering operations (knowledge)
