What you will do in your working day

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Setting and operating modern CNC machine centres
  • Understanding and interpreting technical drawings
  • Creating CNC programs using the latest CAD software
  • Making changes to existing CNC programs to meet drawing requirements
  • Using precision measurement systems

The training you will be getting

You will study the Engineering Technician level 3 apprenticeship standard, Mechanical Manufacturing Pathway.

You will attend college weekly at the Leek Campus, college transport is available, spending time in the engineering workshop, CAD / CAM suites learning with other apprentices.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

There is an option to attend further specialised training (with machine OEM's).
