Summary

Immediate start has arisen with an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to join our small but busy online store. We’re looking for a positive, energetic apprentice to work in our busy Customer Service & IT Team for online sales. You will be fully supported in your job role with a member of staff. Duties include live Interaction with internal and external customers.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

Course contents
  • Use a range of questioning skills, including listening and responding in a way that builds rapport, determines customer needs and expectations and achieves positive engagement and delivery.
  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication skills, along with summarising language during face-to-face communications; and/or
  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate communication skills, along with reinforcement techniques (to confirm understanding) during non-facing customer interactions.
  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use an appropriate ‘tone of voice’ in all communications, including written and digital, that reflect the organisation’s brand.
  • Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
  • Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity and work to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate patience and calmness.
  • Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
  • Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
  • Maintain informative communication during service recovery.

This is a work-based qualification with college attendance one day a month.

Essential qualifications

GCSE or equivalent in:

  • English (grade C/4 or above)
  • Maths (grade C/4 or above)

Other requirements

You would need to be hard working, have a friendly nature, be confident, and be able to learn how to deal with customers via e-mail, in person and over the phone in a professional manner. You’ll be given training and ongoing help but you’ll need to be able to hold your own. • A can-do attitude - Positivity and enthusiasm • Previous experience in customer service • Able to follow clear systems and instruction with attention to detail • Have good English & Maths skills able to read and write and calculate sums • Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers and Scanners. • Good time management skills and the ability to prioritise work with the ability to multi-task • To have some experience on Photoshop and MS Office • Advantages to have experience of Linnworks • Positive approach • Flexible • Willing to learn new skills as needed • Able to work in a busy environment
