What you will do in your working day

As a Mechanical Manufacturing Apprentice, you'll be initially responsible for (but not limited to) the following:

  • Manual assembly and manufacture of product range
  • Work safely and in line with written procedures, carrying out your own risk assessment before commencing work
  • Use a variety of hand tools and machinery
  • Undertaking final inspections of finished components ensuring they are within tolerance
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and productive work area
  • Ensure production timings are met/exceeded

You’ll develop your skills alongside time-served Therco-Serck employees who are eager to pass on their knowledge, helping you learn a variety of duties and how to support the whole business. You’ll be taught to a training plan and mentored to achieve your full potential and create the foundation of a career in engineering.

The training you will be getting

  • The successful candidates will continue their studies with apprenticeship specialists, RNN Group at either of their North Notts or Rotherham campuses on a day release format, giving you the training and support you need to become an all-rounded and successful Engineer.
  • The Apprenticeship Standard you will be studying is Engineering Operative – Mechanical – Level 2
  • Functional Skills Level 2 (if required)
