Summary

This vacancy is for an Instrumentation Technician Apprentice who will work and train as an Engineer across all production & service areas of the Budenberg manufacturing facility based in Altrincham whilst undertaking an Advanced Level 3 Apprenticeship.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

  • Pressure Guage assembly & Maintenance.
  • Assembly & repair of calibration equipment.
  • Use of inspection & measuring equipment.
  • Calibration & Certification of Pressure Instrumentation.
  • Tig Welding, Soldering & Brazing.
  • Fabrication & Metal work.
  • Use of CAD software.
  • Operation of manual lathes and milling machines.
  • Valve assembly & Pressure Testing.
  • Assembly and testing of ball and needle valves. 
  • Technical Services - repair and recalibration of instrumentation.
  • Welding and Fabrication.

Other requirements

Budenberg operates on compressed hours, which means we work our normal a weekly hours across 4 days. This can mean a better work-life balance by giving you an extra day off each week (Friday) but means working long days, often on your feet carrying out and would suit someone with a strong work ethic.

After this apprenticeship

Budenberg’s apprenticeship initiative is in place to safeguard the technical and bespoke skills & knowledge required to manufacture our product range in house here in the UK. The large majority of our valued workforce started out as apprentices at Budenberg across all areas of the company. Our intention as always is for the next round of apprentices to have long and successful careers within the organisation.    

The aim of the Budenberg apprenticeship initiative is to train new staff to fill highly skilled and long term positions within the organisation while supporting them with the opportunity to take their training and education further with the potential of higher education upon completion of the initial apprenticeship program.
