Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Our Global Pricing Team is a dynamic group of insurance experts dedicated to navigating through the complex landscape of pricing strategies worldwide. With a deep understanding of the insurance industry's nuances, we craft innovative pricing models that ensure our clients remain competitive in a rapidly evolving commercial market.
You will work closely with our Data Engineering managers to interrogate data and implement data flows across our various lines of business and regions to support advanced predictive analytics and data-driven applications. We are looking for someone who is willing to get hands on with the company’s data and to develop innovative and structured solutions to bring it together in a way that maximises its potential. This person will need to collaborate internationally with various stakeholders, both within the Pricing Function and across other Allianz Commercial functions.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
- Maintaining and enhancing our Pricing data lake and data warehouse
- Developing knowledge of company’s IT landscape, data and data systems
- Helping to develop new data ingestion processes within our Cloud based platform, to ensure that data can be properly leveraged in the future
- Supporting the development of interactive dashboards and applications for the Global Pricing department
- Developing data preparation solutions and data pipelines for predictive modelling projects and pricing applications
- Collaborating with Data Engineers and Predictive Modellers to deliver innovative data solutions
- Support the pricing actuaries on their data requests

Our Data Engineer Apprentice program will give you the opportunity to develop a range of skills while working within our Global Pricing Data team. In addition to on-the-job development, over the course of 24 months, you’ll spend 20% of your time participating on a Level 7 Digital and Technology Solutions Specialist apprenticeship program.
