Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- The jobholder will work as part of an engineering team carrying out technical activity on a broad range of medical equipment ranging from simple custom-made treatment aids to physiological monitoring equipment, infusions devices, dialysis equipment, diagnostic imaging and treatment systems including CT scanners and radiotherapy linear accelerators
- They will work both in workshops and in clinical areas helping to deliver a range of technical services including equipment installation, repair, maintenance and calibration
- They will participate in equipment quality assurance and planned preventative maintenance activity as well as assisting in the production of treatment devices

Your training plan
- On the job training will take place at Leeds Teaching hospital in different technical engineering teams
- Off the job learning will be done online with Dudley College and Avensys Medical
- You will be in work 4 days a week and studying one day a week
