Summary

This apprenticeship role will contribute to the enrichment opportunities and co-curriculum initiatives. The role is to support the wider admin team with pupil wellbeing and academic achievement. You will support the school to deliver communications Strategy and to engage with parents, employees and stakeholder across the Trust. Term-time only.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • This is a term-time-only role. 39 weeks
  • Understand and support the delivery of the communications plans for each school, taking into consideration the various objectives, audiences and channels
  • To support senior leaders in coordinating and establishing a calendar of enrichment and curriculum opportunities throughout the school
  • Engage with internal staff to ensure a smooth and timely collection of relevant information for marketing purposes.
  • Collect, write and present marketing content, both digital and in other forms, to promote the work of External Affairs & Communication team and our schools
  • Ensure the systems are kept up to date with the latest news for staff, creating content that will inform and engage the whole community
  •  Support with the coordination and promotion of a range of events including those to celebrate the achievements of our schools, to engage stakeholders with key programmes of work and to promote opportunities e.g., through events including jobs fairs etc. 
  •  Support the production and dispatch of marketing and communications collateral, including printed event and exhibition materials
  •  Research, write and build digital content, including materials for web, social media and email marketing and prepare media monitoring reports
  •  Be a presence within school, liaising with relevant contacts across the Trust to support on integrating the work of the External Affairs & Communication team with the Trust’s/school’s wider message 
  •  Develop an understanding of the different audiences the school engage with, including a range of parents, pupils, partners and employers, and support on the implementation of the Marketing and Communications strategy
  •  To meet all learning commitments of the apprenticeship as the Headteacher, or the learning/training provider. Assigned qualifications and an end-point assessment must be completed. This can include presentations, portfolios, units of assessment and exams
  •  Provide administrative support to the wider team, including data entry, managing calendars, identifying venues for events and other administrative support as needed
  •  Work independently on projects as needed

  • Develop or interpret briefs for external or internal stakeholders and measure delivery in-line with the specification and agreed timelines
  • Plan and coordinate a marketing activity using marketing tactics to acquire and retain one or more customer segments using available resources.
  • Contribute to the generation of innovative and creative approaches across video, images, and other formats, both online and offline, to support campaign development.
  • Use research/survey software to gather audience insight and/or evaluation to support the project.
  • Use copywriting techniques to write persuasive text/copy to meet a communications objective ensuring it is in-line with organisational brand guidelines.
  • Build and implement multi-channel campaigns across a variety of platforms, either offline or digital media.
  • Proofread marketing copy ensuring it is accurate, persuasive and is on brand.
  • Use software to design and create marketing assets to meet the technical specification.
  • Contribute to the research of external suppliers to support recommendations and procurement of marketing goods and services.
  • Organise offline and digital assets ensuring they are co-ordinated and legally compliant.
  • Use a website content management system to publish text, images, and video/animated content.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets to support marketing activities such as project/budget planning and organisation of marketing assets.
  • Use technology and software packages to support day to day activities, e.g., stakeholder communications, development of briefs, data analysis, report writing, presentations and project management.
  • Identify and use data and technologies to achieve marketing objectives.
  • Monitor and amend campaigns to meet budget requirements including time and monetary costs.
  • Review campaigns regularly to ensure effectiveness, to optimise the results.
  • Measure and evaluate campaign delivery to identify areas for improvement.
  • Use data analysis tools to record, interpret and analyse customer or campaign data.

Essential qualifications

GCSE or equivalent in:
