Summary

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established local family business as a Customer Service Advisor Apprentice. Team work is a essential, as you will be working with colleagues to assist customers, liaise with suppliers and handle a range of orders.

- Quarterly progress reviews will take place during the time of employment. - All staff are entitled to staff discounts. - Tea/Coffee and sweet treats are provided in store daily.

Monday - Friday, 8.5 hours per day (With 30 mins break for lunch). Shifts will be rotated between 8.00am - 4.30pm and 11.30am - 8.00pm.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Assisting customers with their flooring selection.
  • Working alongside other team members in handling orders, assisting in the warehouse.
  • Answering calls from customers and suppliers.
  • Ordering and receiving stock.

Course contents
  • Use a range of questioning skills, including listening and responding in a way that builds rapport, determines customer needs and expectations and achieves positive engagement and delivery.
  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication skills, along with summarising language during face-to-face communications; and/or
  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate communication skills, along with reinforcement techniques (to confirm understanding) during non-facing customer interactions.
  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use an appropriate ‘tone of voice’ in all communications, including written and digital, that reflect the organisation’s brand.
  • Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
  • Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity and work to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate patience and calmness.
  • Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
  • Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
  • Maintain informative communication during service recovery.

    Level 2 Customer Service apprenticeship standard, including Functional Skills in maths and English, if required.

    This is a work based programme which means that all of your learning will take place on the site of your employment and within your contracted working hours. We host supporting workshops regularly throughout the apprenticeship which you can attend in person at our Derby Road campus.

    You will work with expert assessors to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours within the profession.
    You will experience a blended learning model.
    You will gather learning evidence, journals and off-the-job records using your e-portfolio.

    At the end of the planned learning period, it will be agreed that you are ready to enter 'Gateway' and for your End Point Assessment to be arranged.

    GCSE or equivalent in:

    • English (grade A*/C - 9/4)
    • Maths (grade A*/C - 9/4)
