Plastek UK Limited are looking to hire another apprentice to work alongside our PPM technician and maintenance team to understand the goals of the department and to provide a PPM service to our moulding machines, water cooling towers, Chillers, Fire alarm/pumps/sprinkler systems, oil and water analysis samples, daily plant checks.

What you will do in your working day

To keep PPM schedule up to date and all electronic records current and in correct location. 
• To ensure that all equipment is checked and maintained to a high standard.
• To identify areas of improvement and implement where necessary within this PPM system. 
• To utilise good working practices and work safely and efficiently within the department. 
• Maintain good levels of housekeeping. 
• To monitor and maintain levels of all required spares and materials.  
• To use any machinery that training has been received. 
• To assist the maintenance team whenever additional support is required. 
• Adhere to the companies ISO standards. 
• Adhere to all Health and Safety standards

The training you will be getting

Level 2 Engineering Operative apprenticeship standard, including Functional Skills if required.

This programmes:

  • EAL Level 2 Certificate in Engineering Operations (Knowledge)
  • EAL Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations (Skills)

You will work with expert assessors to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours within the profession.

You will experience a blended learning model.

This programme is delivered via a day release delivery model which means that one day per week, your attendance is required at our engineering campus (NG17). This attendance is required during term time only.

You will gather learning evidence, journals and off-the-job records using your e-portfolio.

At the end of the planned learning period, it will be agreed that you are ready to enter 'Gateway' and for your End Point Assessment to be arranged.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

At the end of the apprenticeship there may be an opportunity to progress into a full time, permanent role.
