What you will do in your working day
- To support Panel builder/Fitters in the building of LV Switchboards and Control Panels in line with Production Manager instruction/production plan
- Learn how to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Learn how to mechanically fit out panels including metering
- Be trained on how to assemble a range of control panels
- Learn how to maintain control panels, machines and equipment
- Help support the idea of continuous improvement in the production area
- Learn about the wiring of panels and how to diagnose and rectify faults
- Learn how to inspect and test components
The training you will be getting
Full Level 3 Engineering Fitter apprenticeship standard.
This programme includes the:
- Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering
- BTEC Diploma in advanced Manufacturing Engineering
You will work with expert assessors to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours within the profession.
You will experience a blended learning model.
This is a day release delivery model which means that during term time, you are expected to attend one day per week at our engineering innovation centre in NG17.
You will gather learning evidence, journals and off-the-job records using your e-portfolio.
At the end of the planned learning period, it will be agreed that you are ready to enter 'Gateway' and for your End Point Assessment to be arranged.
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
At the end of the apprenticeship there may be an opportunity to progress into a full-time, permanent role with ongoing training to ensure your skills remain relevant.
