    37 hours per week, attend college 1 day per week to Filton Campus, working across 3 or 4 days. Nursery is open 7:30am to 6pm Monday-Friday. Closed Bank holidays and a week at Christmas. 11.54 per hour -unpaid lunch.

What you will do in your working day

Roles and responsibilities: 

  • To participate in forest school
  • Messy activities such as cooking and taking care of the allotment with the children
  • Observing children and ensuring they are progressing in their learning.
  • Helping children meet their individual needs and support them in their independence and every day tasks.
  • Able to use the tapestry software to record the children's day.

The training you will be getting

Level 3 Early Years Educator standard.

Apprentices must successfully complete a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification. Please refer to the DfE list of approved EYE qualifications:

Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking their end point assessment. For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement, the apprenticeships English and maths minimum requirements are Entry Level 3, and the British Sign Language qualification is an alternative to English qualifications for apprentices for whom this is their primary language.

Apprentices must successfully complete a paediatric first aid qualification in line with the requirements of the EYFS Framework (Annex A): Early years foundation stage (EYFS) statutory framework - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk).

You will be required to complete Functional Skills mathematics and English (where applicable), Employment Rights and Responsibilities and British Values.

You will also complete a qualification in Paediatric First Aid.

Location: South Gloucestershire and Stroud College - Filton Campus.

Duration: 18-24 months.

We are based in Downend South Gloucestershire in a quiet area, also have onsite parking.

About the employer

A nursery converted from a house - a very homely feel. 2 separate nurseries within a cul-de-sac, 1 site takes 50 children and the other site takes 30 children, both free flow from room- to room and garden.
