Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
This role is for a finance professional to support the delivery of financial performance, planning, reporting and support for this area of the business. You will work with Senior Finance Business Partners to monitor business performance, set challenging targets while optimising efficiency and controls across the area.
- Delivery of accurate and timely management accounts and month end reporting
- Ensuring all key stakeholders are provided with comprehensive financial support covering their actual and forecasted gross margin and costs
- Identification and clear communication of Risks and Opportunities within the area of responsibility
- Challenge areas of cost inefficiency, control weakness and expenditure above forecast and plan
- Challenge areas for profitability improvement, control weakness and drive for EBITDA improvements
- Detailed monitoring, control and challenge on operational profitability and articulating financial impacts
- Build relationships with key clients

Your training plan
Accounting And Taxation Professional Apprenticeship Level 7. If you’re looking to develop your accountancy skills to lead finance departments or provide management accounting consultancy, CIMA is your ticket. CIMA is split into Certificate, a standalone ‘beginner’ qualification, and Professional, which is split into three levels: Operational, Management, and Strategic. The Certificate in Business Accounting is your starting point if you're new to accountancy. You'll learn the fundamentals of business economics, financial accounting, management accounting, and ethical considerations of commercial activity. Operational teaches you about organisational management, costs and analysis used in production, and financial reporting and taxation. Management equips you with the skills to perform advanced management accounting and advanced financial reporting tasks. Strategic develops your leadership and strategic management abilities and teaches you about risk management and financial strategy.
