Summary
To complete a L3 Electro-Mechanical apprenticeship under the professional guidance of our Area Service Manager/Field Service Engineers. To become qualified and learn about the operation and maintenance of gas fuelled engines and generator sets, day-to-day servicing, fault finding stripping down and rebuilding of engines and ancillary equipment.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
- Follow the direction of the Area Service Manager/Field Service Engineer in order to learn about the operation and maintenance of gas fuelled engine and generator sets
- Undertake, as directed and under supervision, when necessary, the day-to-day servicing, fault finding stripping down and rebuilding of engines and ancillary equipment
- Under the supervision and direction of a Field Service Engineer respond to callouts for mechanical and electrical breakdowns as required
- Assist the Area Service Manager and Field Service Engineers to promote the professionalism of Clarke Energy by dealing with customers in a polite and friendly manner and by maintaining a high level of site house- keeping and personal presentation
- Undertake all other tasks and activities necessary to develop the on-the-jobs skills required of a Field Service Engineer within Clarke Energy
- Attend College and complete all work in accordance with the course timetable and as necessary to successfully complete the apprenticeship within the 4-year standard
- Observe and follow Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and regulations at all times
Where you’ll work
Under the supervision and direction of a Field Service Engineer respond to call-outs for mechanical and electrical breakdowns as required.
Training
Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

Other requirements
Willing to travel and work unsociable hours, away from home when required. Interest in Engineering demonstrated through work experience and/or hobbies. Full UK Driving Licence. Responds well to instruction and feedback. Are flexible and adaptable – does whatever needs to be done. Work well in a team. Are friendly, polite and professional when dealing with customers and colleagues. Able to organises own time and tasks. Desirable: Undertaken a placement in an Engineering environment while at school.
