Summary

Apprentices at Berkeley need to show a willingness to learn and enthusiasm . You should be comfortable communicating with new people. We work in a fast paced environment and will be well supported and part of a team. There are 12 roles available mainly across East London with a couple of roles in West and Central London.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

  • The Construction Department manages the build process by looking at working drawings through to the delivery of homes and commercial property to the customer
  • As a Site Supervisor apprentice there will be plenty of time out of the office on site
  • Coordinating contractors working on our sites and getting involved in health and safety and sustainability activities

Course contents
  • Identify risk of activities and encourage all employees to demonstrate safety-conscious behaviours.
  • Assess, identify and record the environmental impact of projects.
  • Assist in the implementation of the most appropriate solutions for construction projects.
  • Use effective management principles and be able to supervise construction workers.
  • Understand overall plan for project and measure and record progress against plan.
  • Assess and report on quality standards and assist in commissioning of finished construction projects.
  • Understand financial and legal constraints and measure and record progress against budget.

Your training plan

  • The Construction apprenticeship will last approximately 24 months which will be delivered in a hybrid model with both virtual and some face to face sessions.
  • It is planned to be a day release model
  • Level 3 Construction Support Technician OR Level 4 Construction Site Supervisor qualification depending on eligibility
  • Functional Skills in maths and English, if required
