Summary

Supply 1st Line Support for the Development Team. Take calls and be the initial contact for the software development department, you will gain a knowledge of both application and web-based applications using various coding techniques, Database administration using SQL.

Hours: 8.30am - 5:00pm, Monday - Thursday. 8.30am - 1.30pm, Fridays. Lunch 12:15 until 13:00.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Take 1st Line Calls for the senior developers
Communication both written and orally – relaying complex queries to seniors
Learn Software Development using VB.net and ASP.Net
Support and enhance Windows applications
Windows Services
Web Services
Updating of Company Website
Mobile Devices (Web)
Working using and understanding the company framework for all development
Take ownership of modules in time
Initially support for the Web Based applications building to a knowledge of extending and enhancing the applications.
Learning IIS and Certification (HTTPS)
SQL – gain a knowledge of table design
SQL - Scripting of Stored Procedures, Functions
SQL - DBA administration (backup/restore, delete, monitoring performance)
