Summary

We are on the look out for someone that wants to join our friendly team as a Warehouse and Stores Apprentice. You will be full trained by skilled individuals while gaining multiple qualifications in the warehousing industry from a fork lift licence to lean manufacturing.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Main duties:

  • Moving of materials and products for the production lines.
  • Checking stock in and out.
  • Ensuring delivery of products takes place in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring little waste occurs.
  • Organising collection of stock with delivery drivers and suppliers.
  • Moving and handling with lifting aid equipment.
  • Picking of stock for deliveries.
  • Quality inspection.

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

The training will occur in the workplace alongside a workplace mentor and a skills coach from Hull College will visit you in the workplace to delivery onsite training.

Hull college will deliver the Apprenticeship Standard Lean Manufacturing Level 2.

Plus Functional Skills in Maths and English if required.

After this apprenticeship

On completion of the apprenticeship for the right candidate there is a full time position available to become warehouse manager.

You will also be trained and qualified in using a forklift.
