Are you a friendly, eager to work and learn and interested in working in a busy warehouse? If this is you - Eagle Plastics are looking for a dynamic person to work within their warehouse in Thurmaston.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Your key responsibilities will include

Goods In:

  • Assist with receiving, checking, and recording incoming stock deliveries.

Order Picking and Packing:

  • Accurately pick and pack customer orders for shipment.

Use of Light Machinery:

  • Safely and accurately cut material to customer requirements.

Stock Control:

  • Help with stock checks, ensuring accurate inventory levels are maintained.

Storage and Organisation:

  • Organise stock in the warehouse, ensuring goods are stored safely and accessibly.

Health and Safety:

  • Follow health and safety procedures, keeping the warehouse clean and hazard-free.

Teamwork:

  • Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational targets.

Systems and Documentation:

  • Use warehouse management systems (WMS) to record activities and maintain accurate data.

  • Decant, pack products in line with organisational procedures.
  • Communicate with others verbally, for example internal and external customers, colleagues, and managers.
  • Communicate in writing with others, for example internal and external customers, colleagues and managers.
  • Load and unload products, considering the product that is to be moved and its current and planned destination.
  • Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
  • Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
  • Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
  • Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
  • support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
  • Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
  • Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.
  • Follow equity, diversity and inclusion rules.
  • Carry out and record learning and development activities.

Your training plan

  • In addition to gaining practical experience in the role, you will also attain an NVQ Level 2 Supply chain qualification which will help start your career and give you an insight into the businesses processes and procedures.
  • Our training is all complete remotely via teams with a development coach who will be available for support 24/7 and will arrange weekly/fortnightly meetings with you.
  • You receive 20% off the job training during this Apprenticeship which is included in your weekly working hours

GCSE in:
