Summary

Supports the IT department with performing all IT-related tasks such as installing and troubleshooting computer equipment and software, updating software, IT troubleshooting and general support.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Job Functional Knowledge: Requires knowledge of a range of processes and procedures through job-related training and on-the-job experience to perform a range of work assignments
  • Business Expertise/ Acumen: Understands how the assigned duties integrate with others in the team
  • Leadership: May act as an informal resource for team members with less experience
  • Problem Solving: Provides input and applies solutions to problems in own work area with close supervisory approval
  • Impact: Impacts the quality and results of own team
  • Interpersonal Skills: Uses communication skills to exchange information within own team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide end user support as part of the RHO IT Service Delivery team
  • Daily administration of servers and supporting infrastructure
  • Monitoring of Server status and performance
  • Installation and configuration of PC hardware, Server Hardware, software, and peripherals
  • Ensure the company’s data is fully secured and backed up on a timely basis
  • Maintain current knowledge on all technical issues relating to current and future systems
  • Undertake training and education to best of ability as advised by line manager
  • Ensure that a safe and healthy work environment exists, by adhering to company health, safety
  • IT and environment policies, to achieve full compliance with the relevant legislation
  • Investigate improvements to processes
  • Complete an Information Communications Technician Apprenticeship
  • Other ad hoc duties

Skills Needed:

  • 5+ GCSES Grade 4/C and above (or equivalent) including math’s and English
  • Experience using desktop products
  • Tech savvy
  • Desire to learn and strive for continuous improvement
  • Demonstratable interest and ambition for a career within IT
