Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Job Functional Knowledge: Requires knowledge of a range of processes and procedures through job-related training and on-the-job experience to perform a range of work assignments
- Business Expertise/ Acumen: Understands how the assigned duties integrate with others in the team
- Leadership: May act as an informal resource for team members with less experience
- Problem Solving: Provides input and applies solutions to problems in own work area with close supervisory approval
- Impact: Impacts the quality and results of own team
- Interpersonal Skills: Uses communication skills to exchange information within own team
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide end user support as part of the RHO IT Service Delivery team
- Daily administration of servers and supporting infrastructure
- Monitoring of Server status and performance
- Installation and configuration of PC hardware, Server Hardware, software, and peripherals
- Ensure the company’s data is fully secured and backed up on a timely basis
- Maintain current knowledge on all technical issues relating to current and future systems
- Undertake training and education to best of ability as advised by line manager
- Ensure that a safe and healthy work environment exists, by adhering to company health, safety
- IT and environment policies, to achieve full compliance with the relevant legislation
- Investigate improvements to processes
- Complete an Information Communications Technician Apprenticeship
- Other ad hoc duties
Skills Needed:
- 5+ GCSES Grade 4/C and above (or equivalent) including math’s and English
- Experience using desktop products
- Tech savvy
- Desire to learn and strive for continuous improvement
- Demonstratable interest and ambition for a career within IT
