Summary

Working within our IT & Data department, the successful applicant will play a vital role in aiding the organisation to scope, plan, design, build, develop and support our Dynamics and Office 365 estate to progress the Migrant Help Strategy of 2024-29 and thereafter.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with other members of the Dynamics team by understanding your own contribution to the team’s goals.
  • Support the full solution life cycle, contribution to solution design, software development and solution implementation. 
  • Support and manage incidents, changes, and service requests
  • Deploying updates onto target infrastructure, performing any necessary system tests and ensuring accuracy of deployment
  • Support the Development of solutions to meet the customers’ needs using D365 and the Power Platform suite.
  • Assist in building solutions within and customise Microsoft D365 to meet project requirements.
  • Produce technical, and ‘end-user friendly’ knowledge guidance & documentation
  • Contribute to the change approval board (CAB).
  • Develop strong Microsoft D365 and Power Platform product skills.
  • Champion continuous service improvements using a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
  • Be up to date with future features and improvements to suggest where appropriate.

  • create logical and maintainable code
  • develop effective user interfaces
  • link code to data sets
  • test code and analyse results to correct errors found using unit testing
  • conduct a range of test types, such as Integration, System, User Acceptance, Non-Functional, Performance and Security testing.
  • identify and create test scenarios
  • apply structured techniques to problem solving, debug code and understand the structure of programmes in order to identify and resolve issues
  • create simple software designs to effectively communicate understanding of the program
  • create analysis artefacts, such as use cases and/or user stories
  • build, manage and deploy code into the relevant environment
  • apply an appropriate software development approach according to the relevant paradigm (for example object oriented, event driven or procedural)
  • follow software designs and functional or technical specifications
  • follow testing frameworks and methodologies
  • follow company, team or client approaches to continuous integration, version and source control
  • communicate software solutions and ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • apply algorithms, logic and data structures
  • interpret and implement a given design whist remaining compliant with security and maintainability requirements

    Apprenticeship team to increase your skills
