Summary

The first point of contact in our reception for visitors. You will ensure that all clients/visitors enquires both face to face/email/telephone are directed to the relevant person within the company. You will work both autonomously and also as part of a team. You will undertake a variety of administrative duties and some housekeeping duties also.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Administrative elements adding learners on PICS
  • Customer Service including greeting customers
  • Dealing with telephone calls
  • Clean reception area, signing in
  • Filing and photocopying
  • Laminating and designing displays
  • Keeping reception and rest room clean and tidy
  • Adhere to practice policies and procedures

  • Use a range of questioning skills, including listening and responding in a way that builds rapport, determines customer needs and expectations and achieves positive engagement and delivery.
  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication skills, along with summarising language during face-to-face communications; and/or
  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate communication skills, along with reinforcement techniques (to confirm understanding) during non-facing customer interactions.
  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use an appropriate ‘tone of voice’ in all communications, including written and digital, that reflect the organisation’s brand.
  • Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
  • Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity and work to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate patience and calmness.
  • Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
  • Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
  • Maintain informative communication during service recovery.

GCSE or equivalent in:

  • Mathematics & English (grade 9-4 (A*-C))

Other requirements

This position is split between 2 locations, you will be working from Rotherham (S65 1AJ) Office Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and from the Doncaster (DN1 1JL) Office on Thursdays and Fridays.

They have two state of the art training centres in Rotherham and Doncaster and are supported by over 100 local Employers who offer to support our young people through giving work placements or by employing our Apprentices.
