Through our Systems Engineering apprenticeship, you’ll be making the most of your talents, getting to understand the Underwater Systems Sonar business; and doing so with the help of one of the biggest and best names in the industry.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Key objective of the role:

  • Conduct System Integration and Test activities in each stage of the project lifecycle
  • Ensure all aspects of the Integration, Validation, Verification, and Qualification (IVVQ) process are completed in line with the Lead Engineer (or IVVQ Managers) instruction
  • Ensure customer factory acceptance and delivery of both Hardware and Software items for first of class and repeat production systems
  • Key skills training in all areas of System Integration and Test

Your training plan

As a Systems Apprentice you will be working towards a Level 3 apprenticeship following the Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician (MOET) pathway. For the duration of this 3-year programme, you will be given one day per week in which to complete your studies with a local college. For the other 4 days, you will be working in the business, applying your learning and gaining a breadth of experience across the industry.

Essential qualifications

GCSE or equivalent in:

  • 5 GCSEs incl. Maths & English (grade A*-C or 9-4)
