Summary

We are seeking an Apprentice estimator and CAD operator to join our team in creating detailed technical drawings and plans for various projects. As well as detailing we are looking for the right person to assist our team with estimating.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

- Review customer drawings and create estimates from these to include bill of materials
- Utilise CAD software to produce detailed drawings and models
- Collaborate with engineers and architects to understand project requirements
- Create 2D and 3D models of structures, components, and systems
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards and project specifications
- Review and modify designs based on feedback from team members

You will experience a blended learning model.

This programme is delivered via a day release delivery model which means that one day per week, your attendance is required at our Engineering campus (NG17). This attendance is required during term time only.

About this company

Utilising 15 years of personal experience working in a variety of fabrication roles 1st Fabs was Launched by Greg. The main reason for launching is the passion for fabrication and metal work, not only a passion but a desire to do things right and provide honest customer service. At 1st Fabs we enjoy our work and spend our time researching and investing in new machinery and tooling to improve our works. Since forming with welding and fabrication we have moved into in house machining and finishing services in order to bring as many aspects into our control with a view to offering an enhanced customer journey.
