Summary
Assisting surveyors and directors in the day-to-day workings of the business which will see apprentices involved in a variety of projects from energy generation such as wind and solar farms, energy storage projects such as battery and hydrogen and assist in keeping the canals and waterways running as well as the roads.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
The candidate can expect to undertake the following in day-to-day life at FGP:
- Assisting surveyors and directors in the day to day running of the business
- Attending progress meetings with clients and contractors
- Assist surveyors in meetings with landowners and their agents to negotiate legal agreements
- Inspect proposed routes for cables and pipelines
- Undertake land searches for solar farms and battery storage sites

Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

- At the end of the apprenticeship the candidate will receive a BSc (Hons) in Rural Enterprise and Land Management and achieve MRICS on the Rural Pathway Route

Essential qualifications
A Level or equivalent in:
- relevant subjects (grade Grade C or above)

Candidates should review the RICS Rural Pathway and attend the Land and Property Management experience day at Harper Adams University on the 14th of February 2024 or the Open Day on 9th March 2024.
