Summary
The IT Apprentice will be involved in resolving routine IT issues such as, Office 365 administration, set up and configuration of client desktops and laptops, ensuring clients have access to all Office apps, resolving support requests and helpdesk tickets.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Support User base of 50+ clients via telephone, e-mails or onsite
- Office 365 console administration
- Problem-solving
- Set up and configuration of client desktops and laptops. Ensuring users can get emails on the device, can use the Office apps
- Onsite cabling and network connectivity. Onsite Wi-Fi administration
- Active Directory Administration: create new user accounts, amend permissions, and reset network and applications passwords
- Perform various stock check requests as advised by Technical Service Manager’s requests
- Meet and greet our user base. Perform scheduled appointments and tasks
- Support for all IT peripheral equipment for clients e.g., Projectors, Printers, Meeting room equipment etc
- SharePoint Administration
- The Apprentice will perform their duties and any ad hoc requests that come from the Technical Services Manager or Managing Director, with accuracy and professionalism

- College attendance will be at the Colchester Institute - Colchester Campus one day per week during term time
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- maths and English (grade A*-C/9-4 or equivalent)
- three other subjects (grade A*-C/9-4 or equivalent)

Other requirements
A valid UK driving licence is preferred but not essential. For this role it is important that you have the confidence to talk to customers on the telephone and face to face.
