Summary
The Apprentice will work in partnership and complementary to the Nursery, Reception teacher or Lead professionals, in order to help meet the aims of the school. The Early Years Practitioners are given some responsibility for planning part of the delivery programmes and are to play a full part in its implementation.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Alongside completing your Early Years Educator Level 3 qualification, you will be required to support the Nursery team in planning and organising activities and experiences for children from 9 months. You will also be expected to protect and promote the safeguarding of children.
Duties Include:
- To work within the ethos of Lion Academy Trust and provide a warm, welcoming, and stimulating environment, where children and families feel valued
- Understand and work with nursery policies and procedures, including how to deal with child protection issues appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints and emergencies
- Plan activities which ensure each child is working towards the early learning outcomes
- To provide learning experiences that challenge and enable young children to grow in confidence and independence within a stimulating environment
- To nurture positive relationships with children ensuring their emotional well-being and promoting their confidence and self-esteem

Essential qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:
- English (grade 9-3)
- Maths (grade 9-3)
Desirable qualifications
NVQ or SVQ Level 2 or equivalent in:
- Early Years Practitioner (grade Pass)
