Summary

The main purpose of this role is to undertake an apprenticeship qualification while working within the industry. The role will be primarily based within the fleet and compliance department with insights into other transport departments.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Communicate with drivers, staff, customers, and suppliers in a professional and timely manner
  • Assist Fleet Co Ordinator with Fleet service planner to ensure that all Vehicles and Trailers have a rolling 12-month plan for all Maintenance requirements
  • Maintain up to date records with regards to Vehicle and Trailer maintenance in line with DSVA standards
  • Assist in the management of Driver defect reporting ensuring that all reported defects are rectified in an appropriate time scale
  • Report weekly to Compliance development manager on all set KPI targets
  • Raise Purchase orders to suppliers when approved by Line manager
  • Assist in Maintaining good housekeeping on the Vehicle telematics system
  • Assist with continuous tachograph analysis software is up to date, accurate and ensure good housekeeping
  • Report weekly on Fleet washing and cleanliness
  • Generate and circulate weekly driver league report
  • To undertake a development programme leading to a level 2 qualification as part of an apprenticeship within the given time scales
  • Keep your mentor informed of your progress and raise any concerns and issues with them

    Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard at Level 2

    Providing customer service products and services for businesses and other organisations including face-to-face, telephone, digital and written contact and communications.

    The Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard at Level 2 combines the knowledge, skills and behaviours required of the standard and includes functional skills in maths and English. 

    Delivery will be in the workplace with an assessor or coach through a combination of assessing, coaching, training and mentoring.

    The minimum duration of the apprenticeship is 12 months, with an additional 3 months for an externally assessed end point assessment.  A total of 15 months plus functional skills if required. Prior learning and experience will also be taken into consideration.
