Summary

An exciting and unique opportunity has become available within the glass industry. This role will involve the manufacturing of glass, using traditional and modern methods of hand cutting glass combined with the use of modern machining using PVC for door and windows.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

The successful candidate will be involved in the creation and fitment of glass for residential use and commercial including shop fronts, hotels, salons, restaurants, public houses and churches.

The role will involve:

  • Bench hand cutting of glass.
  • Operating CNC machinery.
  • Learning traditional and modern techniques of cutting glass.
  • Manufacturing of the doors and windows.
  • Following drawings to customer specifications.

IC systems have been trading for more than 25 years in the window and door industry, and have been under the current ownership since November 1995. We are based in the seaside town of Bridlington on the Yorkshire coast. IC systems employ a staff of 35, many of who have been employed by the company for many years and have a wealth of experience in the fabricating of windows and doors. IC systems are the leading fabricator of windows and doors to the portable building industry throughout the whole of the United Kingdom and the republic of Ireland.
