Summary

The apprentice will work closely with the L&D Systems Manager and Senior Learning Designer to provide configuration, administration and issue support on the Learning and Development system. They will create and maintain L&D resources utilising software, e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud and Articulate. The apprentice will report to the L&D Systems Manager.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Administrating the Academy; completing regular activities including creating events and sessions, submitting rosters, uploading certificates, and managing the catalogue, systems guides, vendors and trainers
  • Configurating the Academy; completing regular activities including creating groups, submitting learning assignments, building reports and dashboards, creating evaluations and setting emails
  • Designing L&D resources (e.g. materials, online courses, videos etc) which are simple and engaging
  • Actioning Academy queries and finding solutions to issues raised by system users
  • Monitoring L&D mailboxes and responding within the timeframe set out within the SLAs.
  • Maintaining personal development to ensure a constant evolution of skills

Key Performance Indicators

  • Activities completed accurately, on time and to a high standard
  • Positive feedback from stakeholders about the service provided and the standard of L&D resources
  • Maintaining an accurate Personal Development Plan and keeping on track with the requirements of the apprenticeship qualification

    During this apprenticeship, you will follow a fully supported training programme with LearnTech, delivered through combined weekly remote classroom-based training, workplace assessment/training and online learning working towards completing the L3 Digital Support Technician standard.

    • Upon completion of the apprenticeship, the applicant will have a Level 3 qualification for a Digital Support Technician. There may also be scope to remain with Howdens.
