Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

General office administration e.g meeting and greeting clients, ordering stationary etc
Assisting with the preparation of year end statutory accounts for Companies
Assisting with the audit of limited companies as an audit junior. Duties will include undertaking sales, purchases substantive tests, Audit of bank, Audit of fixed assets

Attending client meetings with Senior members of the Firm
Attending stock takes in the UK
Assisting with the review of Solicitors accounts
In house training on the accounting software’s being used by the Firm
Anti-Money Laundering training
GDPR training
Attending Professional development courses on auditing, tax, bookkeeping which are run externally by a Service provider
Payroll training
Preparing and filing Corporation tax Returns

Course contents

Identify ethical dilemmas, understand the implications and behave appropriately. Understand their legal responsibilities, both within the letter and the spirit of the law, as well as be aware of the procedures for reporting concerns over potentially unethical activities.

Take ownership of allocated projects and effectively manage their own time and the time of others. Demonstrate good project management skills to deliver high quality work within the appropriate timeline. Act as a role model and motivate others to deliver results.

Evaluate information quickly and draw accurate conclusions. Assess a problem from multiple angles to ensure all relevant issues are considered. Gather the appropriate facts and evidence in order to make decisions effectively.

ACCA Level 7 There are three levels including Applied Knowledge, Applied Skills and Strategic Professional.

Applied Knowledge helps you understand the role of accounting in the business environment, and develop the practical skills and techniques expected of an accountant working in business.

Essential qualifications

GCSE or equivalent in:

English (grade 4-9)
Maths (grade 4-9)
Any x 3 (grade C-A*)
Degree (grade 1st)
