Summary
As part of the apprenticeship, you will work under the direction of the Regional IT Manager as part of a fantastic team, as well as the in house support you will also have access to industry expert knowledge from your Baltic Apprenticeships coach throughout your apprenticeship journey.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- To provide first-line support to staff and students on their central IT helpdesk
- To assist the effective delivery of Teaching and Learning across their Swindon Schools
- Ensure that ICT hardware across the federation is always functional and ready for use in accordance with end user requirements
- If required and agreed undertake minor repairs to technical resources and equipment
- Install and remove software when required
- Provide technical problem solving on hardware and software issues and problems
- Ensure that all IT issues that may arise are logged on the relevant site's service desk

Your training plan
As an IT Support Technician apprentice, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that IT systems are operating at optimal performance; you will resolve users’ queries and troubleshoot issues within a helpdesk environment.
You will support internal or external customers and help to improve their productivity when using technology to carry out their jobs. You will typically interact with a wide variety of users, and deliver support through digital channels, remotely or in-person.
Throughout your time as an IT Support Technician apprentice, you will develop a mix of hard and soft skills. You will gain expertise in configuring networks and managing user accounts and permissions, but you will also develop crucial soft skills, such as effective communication, problem-solving, time management and customer service.

GCSE in:

- Maths (grade 4)
