Summary

Douch Family Funeral Directors are seeking a Funeral Operative to develop skills in the care and preparation of the deceased while assisting in the workshop, garage, and mortuary. The ideal candidate must be highly organised ensuring tasks are completed efficiently to strict deadlines. A valid driving licence is required for this role.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Bring the deceased into Company's care from locations such as hospitals, care homes, residential homes
  • Responsibility for the preparation and presentation of the deceased ensuring they are presented for viewings
  • Assist with tasks within the branch as requested, which may include helping with coffin deliveries, fitting coffins, preparing the deceased, cleaning of company vehicles, keeping workshop and mortuary areas clean and tidy

We are a family owned funeral director business with seven branches across Dorset. The apprentice will be based at our AE Jolliffe & Son branch based in Ferndown.
